2018 Donate Life 5K & Heroes Walk

Join the Nebraska community of donor families, transplant recipients, living donors and donation supporters for the 7th annual Donate Life 5K & Heroes Walk, presented by Nebraska Organ Recovery.

General Information

The 2018 Donate Life 5K & Heroes Walk is open to adults and children ages 3 and up.

  • Participants may run or walk the 5K course.
  • Chip timing is available. 
  • Children ages 3-10 who are registered for the 5K may also participate in a kids Fun Run. The Fun Run is not timed. All Fun Run participants will receive a medal.
  • All registered participants receive a free t-shirt.

8:30 a.m. - 5K Walk
9:30 a.m. - Kids Fun Run
9:45 a.m. - Awards

Pricing

  • Adults (Age 11+): $30
  • Children (Ages 10 and below): $15

Packet Pick Up

Packet Pick Up will be held on Wednesday, April 18th from 4 to 8 p.m. at Nebraska Organ Recovery located at 8502 West Center Road, Omaha, NE 68124. Packets will also be available for pick up on the day of the event beginning at 7:00 a.m. at Lewis & Clark Landing.

The course route takes participants over the Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge and south along the scenic Missouri River.

Awards

The following awards for timed finishers will be awarded at approximately 10:00 a.m. the day of the event:

  • Overall (awarded to top five male and female participants)
  • Age 19 & under (awarded to top three male and female participants)
  • Age 20-29 (awarded to top three male and female participants)
  • Age 30-39 (awarded to top three male and female participants)
  • Age 40-49 (awarded to top three male and female participants)
  • Age 50-59 (awarded to top three male and female participants)
  • Age 60+ (awarded to top three male and female participants)
  • Donor Family (awarded to top three participants from Donor Family category)
  • Recipient (awarded to top three participants from Recipient category)
  • Living Donor (awarded to top three participants from Living Donor category)
  • Fastest Team (awarded to team whose first four finishers combine for the fastest overall team time)
  • Most Creative Team (awarded to team who displays the most creative team theme)
  • Largest Team
