Nebraska Organ Recovery to Acquire Land for New Midtown Building
After 11 years in its current location at 85th & Center Street, Nebraska Organ Recovery has plans for a new midtown Omaha home.
On March 31st, the University of Nebraska Board of Regents approved the sale of land at 38th Avenue & Leavenworth Street to Nebraska Organ Recovery.
Existing structures at the site will be demolished to make way for the construction of a new 22,000-square-foot facility. The new building will house all of Nebraska Organ Recovery’s 50+ employees, with the possibility of other partner organizations also moving to the space.
“Nebraska Organ Recovery has experienced tremendous growth in the last five years,” said Kyle Herber, President and CEO. “Our current location no longer accommodates our employees or our organization’s needs. The new facility will provide adequate space, with opportunity for more growth. Plus, the location puts us within walking distance of our biggest donation and transplantation partner—Nebraska Medicine.”
Construction of the new facility is expected to take 18 to 24 months.
